Pancreatic biliary disorders refer to a range of conditions that affect the pancreas, bile ducts, and gallbladder, often involving issues with bile flow or pancreatic function. These disorders include diseases like gallstones, pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas), cholangitis (inflammation of the bile ducts), and pancreatic cancer. Gallstones can block bile flow, leading to jaundice or pancreatitis, while pancreatitis can cause severe abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting. Other conditions such as bile duct strictures or tumors can obstruct bile flow, causing symptoms like yellowing of the skin (jaundice), dark urine, and light-colored stools. Diagnostic tools, such as imaging studies, endoscopic procedures, and blood tests, are used to identify the underlying cause. Treatment can range from medications and endoscopic procedures to manage blockages or inflammation, to surgery or chemotherapy for more severe conditions like cancer.
